Jim and Charli Macdonald prove that older is wiser: My wife and I live in Cedar Creek Lake, Texas. Several years ago I retired from the life and health insurance business and our finances were just fine - as long as I am alive. when we were little imagination... When we were little imagination and dreaming was part of our lives every day. You could fill a room with your wish list. You wanted things like a yacht, record an album, go on safari, own a mansion, be a doctor, become a millionaire, go on a cruise, take exciting vacations, amply provide for your family, give to charities, visit foreign countries, etc. As we get older the reality of our situation and circumstances have nibbled away at our hopes and dreams. Our income, being the size of a pea, could not support the dreams from our childhood. Our dreams disappear so gradually that few people even realize they have come to a place of no hope for a better life. Let's take a moment to revisit those childlike goals and dreams. Let's get back to the vision we were born w ith. Discover what your "why" is.
Test what would you do if you won the $50,000,000 lottery?
What would you do if you only had six months to live?
When you're dead what do you want people to say about you?
What is the one thing in your life you have always wanted to do but either did not have the time, the money or were too nervous to try?
What monthly dollar amount do you need to make these dreams a reality?
So how is it that some people face seemingly insurmountable challenges and still come out smelling like a rose while others quit? You will find that the one common trait that all the "winners" have is an optimistic imagination!
what's an imagining attitude?
- Don't look at challenges as obstacles but part of the game you must play to win
- Look at failure as a learning experience
- Even when things look bad, consider all the good things you have (or will have)
- Understand that challenges are what allow you to grow and become a better networker and make more money
- Your past does not equal your future
- Don't focus on your current situation but on the vision of where you are going. Sell out to the vision not the circumstance
set some business goals... Set some business goals in addition to your personal goals and dreams. Here is a common list of the top 10 business goals to get you jump started:
- Bring up your business opportunity in a casual conversation with new people: If you were to open a new restaurant wouldn't you tell everyone about it?
- Partner up with your mentor. You are in business for yourself but not by yourself
- Pick a specific date to qualify for your first level of success
- Set a goal to mentor five new IBO's as quickly as possible
- Only work with and mentor those interested in building a business
- Set learning goals such as reviewing your corporate back office materials
- Plan to participate in a certain number of events, seminars, meetings during your first six months
- As soon as you have a team plan get-togethers, webinars, sizzle sessions or trainings once per week
- Stay focused on your goals
- Always plan to attend your companies special events
